American consumers like the DVD is far better than the online download

According to market research firm NPD Group this week released the second report of the survey, consumers still prefer DVD players, and not like to download and watch online video. In the past three months, the U.S. market and Blu-ray DVD sales and rental family income in the consumer video spending 88%.

American consumers spending an average of about 25 U.S. dollars per month to buy or rent the video, of which 63% for the purchase of DVD, 6% for the purchase of Blu-ray Disc, 18% for rent, 9% for video-on-demand, with only 3% in the digital download.

Despite the continued popularity of DVD and Blu-ray, online video is also a place. In the past 3 months, 9% of Internet users said they watch movies online. The proportion of 5 percent last year, only .8% of Internet users rent movies online . and last year the ratio is 4%.

NPD entertainment industry analyst Russ Crupnick said that Americans still enjoy the CD-ROM video of the family-dominated approach. However, there is the choice of digital video is growing. The good news is that the current digital video consumers watch is a lot like the use of DVD Blu-ray Disc and consumers. However, the physical CD and digital formats can co-exist remains to be seen how long.
